Our First 2009 Workshop

Our first Workshop for 2009 will be held at 'Coolwaters' near Yeppoon on 17 - 18 January 2009.

'INTRODUCTION TO HAND DYED FABRIC CONTEMPORARY PIECING'
BY RUTH WAGNER
A workshop creating table runners and other useful items for your dining areas from your experiemental pieces. Bold prints can be combined with hand dyed fabrics, or solely hand dyed fabrics can be used. You learn how to blend fabrics together and eventually work solely in a
contemporary environment.

More information will be supplied on this blog later for anyone interested in participating.
The photos underneath are Ruth's current quilting activities and give an indication of the type of workshop.

Moggill Show and Tell - October

An heirloom of the future. This is Liz's beautiful present for her daughter who is being married next weekend. The colour of the photo does not do the quilt justice as the blocks are different colour creams and the actual quilt with its simple and elegant pattern and colour look superb. Congratulation Liz, I am sure your daughter will have much pleasure owning and using this Queen size quilt lovingly made by you.

The proud owner of her finished tea Cosy. (Sorry about the fuzzy photo)

Wheelchair Bags for M.S.

Here of a few photos at the Wheelchair Bag making day with members being productive and enjoying their day. There is more info below the photos.

Moggill Piecemakers had a working bee today making Wheelchair Bags for M.S. This project has been our yearly charity for 2008. Not only did Patchworkers come, several of the Moggill members who are sewers, plus some family and friends of members and a QCWA member (who often does our workshops and knows several of the girls) but lives in the Redland area all came for the day. We all spent a very productive and social day piecing and completing bags. These bags will be presented to the M.S. Society at the QCWA Conference held at the end of October in the Brisbane City Hall. I will post some photos of the bags prior to the Conference, in the meantime here are some photos from today.
