Welcome to the CWA Queensland Piecemakers blog. Here you will find interesting information about events, past and present of CWA Piecemakers groups throughout Queensland.
This display is of items needed by Project Love & Care. Ann and Pauline visited Moggill branch to talk about their work. Pictured are Ann, Helen - Moggill's piecemaker co-ordinator and member Cathy.
This great picture is of the Kenniff Country Quilters from Mitchel district. These QCWA members and non-members at at the opening night of their 2010 quilt show.
In the background are quilts from a workshop earlier that year.
Look at these lovely quilt patterns featured on the recent cover of "Countrywoman". The article is asking for photo contributions of any handcrafts produced. More pictures of entries will be posted as they become available.
These are two examples of quilts suitable for the Love and Care project. The first is a panel that has been "bagged" and the other is an I-spy quilt - a good way to use up little pieces. Quilts are needed for children that have been removed from difficult situations and have nothing of their own. If the quilt is backed with fleece there is no need for wadding.
